The Polo Tecnico Professionale Calzaturiero,
or Professional Footwear Pole, in Vigevano is about to get underway in a former
historic slaughterhouse: the project was officially kicked off with the signing
of the memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of Vigevano, the Fondazione
di Piacenza e Vigevano and ANCI, Italy's National Footwear Industry
Association. The aim of the Pole will be to promote a scientific, technical and
economic culture as well as innovation in production methods and organisation,
supporting research in the footwear industry. The memorandum of understanding, signed by
the Mayor of Vigevano, Andrea Sala, the President of Fondazione Piacenza e
Vigevano, Giacomo Marazzi, and the Director of ANCI, Fabio Aromatici, also sets
out the contributions of each partner to the project, for a total of about 7
million Euro, with a further million Euro to be invested by other private or

JAL and
American, both members of the oneworld alliance, entered a joint business
agreement on April 1, 2011 to partner on trans-Pacific services offered by both
airlines. As part of the continual close cooperation, JAL will market
round-trip flights operated by American from Dallas Fort Worth as well as from
New York's John F. Kennedy, to the cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro,
giving customers more options when traveling to Brazil for business or for
leisure. Going forward, JAL and American will continue to strengthen
the partnership to provide their collective customers traveling across the
Pacific with even more convenience and benefits. Reservations and ticket sales for the codeshare flights will
begin January 23, 2013.

H&M is proud to announce it has signed a long-term
partnership with the international tennis star Tomas Berdych. Currently ranked
6th in the world, Czech-born Berdych will be an ambassador for H&M both
on-court and off, and will work closely with the H&M design team on a
unique tennis collection which will debut in stores later on. Tomas Berdych’s partnership with H&M marks a new chapter

"Christopher Kane” in order to develop the business in partnership with its
creator, the Scottish designer, Christopher Kane.
