The President of the Commercial Court of Paris, Mr. Franck Gentin, proposed to LVMH and Hermès a conciliation in order to bring to an end the conflicts between the two groups and restore a climate of positive relations between them. The two parties having reacted favorably to this proposal, signed an agreement under which the LVMH Group will distribute all its Hermès shares to its shareholders, on the understanding that LVMH’s largest shareholder, Christian Dior will in turn distribute the Hermès shares it receives to its own shareholders. LVMH, Dior and Groupe Arnault have undertaken not to acquire any shares in Hermès for the next five years. The distribution of Hermès shares, approved by the boards of LVMH and Dior, will be completed no later than 20th December 2014. Following this distribution, Groupe Arnault will hold around 8.5% of the capital of Hermès International. By virtue of the agreement reached today, LVMH and Hermès have brought to an end the conflict, and all related actions, between them. Mr. Axel Dumas and Mr. Bernard Arnault both express their satisfaction that relations between the two groups, representatives of France’s savoir-faire, have now been restored. |
Nordstrom, Inc. announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at The Shops at Midtown Miami in Miami, Fla. The approximately 31,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in spring 2015. The property is owned and managed by DDR Corp. (NYSE: DDR). The Shops at Midtown Miami are conveniently situated near the convergence of I-95 and I-195, just west of Miami Beach and north of Downtown Miami. The new Rack will move into a space formerly occupied by Loehmann's and join current retailers including Target, Ross, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Sports Authority and West Elm, as well as over 30 smaller shops and restaurants. When it opens, it will be the fourth Rack store in the Miami area. Nordstrom operates a total of nine Racks and nine full-line stores in Florida. The company is opening a new Nordstrom store at St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville on October 10 and two new Rack stores in West Palm Beach on October 8 and in Lake Brandon October 24, which is also owned by DDR. Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., offering customers a wide selection of on-trend apparel, accessories and shoes at an everyday savings of 30-70 percent off regular prices. The Rack carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com, as well as specially purchased items from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom. The Rack is designed to provide the ultimate treasure hunt to style-savvy customers. |

Nordstrom, Inc. is partnering with Curalate as the first company to launch Like2Buy, a platform that will enable a more seamless shopping experience for its customers through Instagram. Like2Buy helps bridge the gap between Instagram and Nordstrom.com by allowing customers to purchase items featured on the Nordstrom Instagram page. Here's how it works: When a customer sees a photo posted on Nordstrom's Instagram feed that they're interested in purchasing or learning more about, they simply click on the Nordstrom profile name and then click the link on the Nordstrom profile page. Next, they will see a gallery of all the featured products and can select an item and go directly to Nordstrom.com to complete their purchase. Customers can also use the "My Likes" function in the gallery to curate items they love for future inspiration or to purchase at another time.
