VIA Motors Brings Aerial Performances by Duo de Luna to NAIAS

Electric vehicle development and manufacturing company VIA Motors will captivate audiences during Press
Preview with the introduction of the world’s first full-size electric SUV
and 800 hp electric X-Truck and with the electrifying trapeze symmetry of
Cameron and Marina as Duo de Luna. The beautifully balanced double aerial
trapeze act, which has thrilled audiences in the U.S. and Europe, will be
performed at three shows daily during Press Preview. The aerial act’s most elaborate show
will be held at VIA Motors’ press conference on Monday, Jan. 14 at 4 p.m.
within their main show floor display area. Duo de Luna will also perform
once at Industry Preview on Wednesday, Jan. 16 in Comcast’s
main show floor display area and three times during Charity Preview on Friday, Jan. 18 in a central
location on the show floor. Comcast Business Class and the NAIAS are
sponsors of these additional preview week performances.

Bond Movie Cars Set to Make Appearance at NAIAS

"Bond. James Bond.” Those famous words will be uttered plenty at the
upcoming NAIAS. Covisint, a Compuware company, is bringing the
world-famous 1964 James Bond car, an Aston Martin DB5, to the NAIAS during
preview week. Visitors to Covisint’s display in the Cobo Center concourse
can have their photo taken with a "Bond Girl” and the iconic Bond car.
The DB5 co-starred with Sean Connery in the movie "Goldfinger” and
appears now in the newest James Bond film "Skyfall” with Daniel Craig.
The DB5’s in-car phone and futuristic GPS mapping device made James Bond
the world’s first connected driver. In keeping with this theme, Covisint
will be showcasing the future of vehicle connectivity. Aisin will be
exhibiting a 1967 Toyota 2000 GT like the
one featured in the 1967 James Bond film "You Only Live Twice.” Now
modified and dubbed the "Crazy Car,” the vehicle runs on solar power
at speeds of 120 mph utilizing Aisin’s electric drive motors. The car will
be displayed adjacent to the Aisin Drive Green Experience in Michigan Hall.

Charity Preview Captures Detroit’s Giving Spirit

Detroit’s giving spirit continues as momentum builds for Charity Preview night,
Friday, Jan. 18, at the NAIAS. Making an appearance at Charity Preview

whose sole purpose is to collect and distribute new gloves and mittens to
children and adults in Detroit. Cummings has appeared in a number of films
and on television, including the TV series "Detroit 1-8-7.” Covering
all the excitement of the evening will be WXYZ-TV Channel 7, the Official
Television Partner of
NAIAS Charity Preview. Charter One, part of the RBS group, is the presenting
sponsor of Charity Preview.

NAIAS Holds "Warming Hands & Homes” Initiative

Auto show visitors will be able to add a little warmth to Detroit-area
residents this year through the show’s three-day "Warming Hands &
Homes” initiative. The NAIAS, in partnership with Mittens for Detroit and
The Heat And Warmth Fund (THAW), will be asking auto
show visitors to bring a pair of new gloves or mittens or spare change to
donate during the final weekend of the NAIAS, from Friday, Jan. 25 -
Sunday, Jan. 27. Specially marked Mittens for Detroit and THAW contribution
boxes will be located at the front entrances of NAIAS to collect the
gloves, mittens and monetary contributions. Mittens for Detroit is the
brainchild of actress Erin Cummings, who started the community initiative
in November 2010. Cummings will be at the NAIAS to support the
"Warming Hands & Homes” initiative on Friday, Jan. 25, from 4 - 6
p.m. and Jan. 26, from 1-3 p.m., signing autographs and participating in
the NAIAS daily parades. THAW was established in 1985 to help low-income
individuals facing an energy crisis. Listen to WWJ Newsradio 950 for more
information about NAIAS’ "Warming Hands & Homes” initiative.
