theMICAM awakens the desire for new shoes,
because shoes are desire, seduction, beauty. A dream to touch and wear, but
also a quality product worth protecting and defending from all attempts at
imitation. For while the eyes may deceive, shoes always tell the truth. Protection of the originality of footwear
products, innovation and high fashion content will be the focus of theMICAM,
the most popular international footwear showcase, coming up March 3 through 6 at
Fiera Milano Rho. About 1,550 exhibitors will display their
products in an exhibition space totalling 68,000 square metres, showing off
their 2013-2014 fall/winter collections: the exhibition will focus on aesthetic
refinement, handcrafting and quality materials, as well as international scope.
A global soul with an all-Italian heart, which theMICAM prepares to export with
the first edition of theMICAMshanghai April 9 through 11. This year theMICAM dedicates special
attention to the services offered for exhibitors and buyers, to optimise
logistics and visits to the event. The exhibition will have a true Lounge, just
like the ones set up in Linate and Malpensa airports to welcome theMICAM
visitors and exhibitors, providing assistance, for example, locating information
on the city of Milan,
hotels and restaurants, as well as airport check-in and related services, such
as airport transfers and baggage carrying. That's not all, but visitors will be
offered advice on what to do in their leisure time, and may purchase customised
packages. Protection and promotion of quality
footwear is the common thread running through the new edition, which once again
offers theMICAMpoint in Milan's
Piazza del Liberty, a whole area open to footwear fans among the public, the
true fulcrum of the events organised in the city during the fair dates. Judging
by the event's success in recent years, the organisers expect to see thousands
of visitors participating in footwear-related initiatives and workshops
focusing on the latest new trends, with activities to keep children busy while
their parents find out more about the value and quality of Italian-made
footwear and how the industry is fighting imitation. There will also be lots of new initiatives
at the trade fair itself: in Galleria Italia, for example, a space will be set
up under the name "Where ideas come from - Creativity and research for style
offices”, focusing entirely on innovation and sources of inspiration for the
creation of new footwear styles. Popular trend forecasters will present
materials, suggestions and new developments from the world of footwear.
Students from Italian fashion institutes will once again participate,
demonstrating ANCI's involvement with youth and education. Press/image MICAM | |
