Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announces Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius will begin taking reservations on March 30 for stays starting from November 1, 2015. The Shangri-La brand is set to assume management of the legendary Indian Ocean resort on April 15, when the property will close for a major renovation. The renovation will encompass all guestrooms and public areas and bring Shangri-La’s well-known spa and restaurant concepts to Mauritius.
Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa will be the second property in the brand’s growing portfolio of extraordinary five-star resorts in the Indian Ocean, joining Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives—one of the world’s leading luxury resorts—and preceding the highly anticipated opening of Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka in 2016.
Located on the east coast of Mauritius in one of the island’s most spectacular bays, the five-star Le Touessrok Resort is among the world’s most distinguished. It has three villas and 200 sea facing guestrooms and suites. Along with extensive water and land-based activities, it offers guests access to Ilot Mangenie, a private, secluded isle with 3.5 kilometers (about two miles) of pristine beach. The resort is also located within five minutes of Ile aux Cerfs, where the 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course designed by Bernhard Langer is located.
