In early 20th Century New York pioneered a new style of high rise building, the skyscrapper. This was made possible by the invention of the elevator brake and the solid granite geology of Manhattan. The city hosts some incredible distinctive buildings so selecting just four to include in our City Clip set took some thought! The set includes;

The Empire State Building, holder of the world's tallest building record for 42 years.
The Chrysler Building, one of the most elegant examples of Art Deco architecture.
The New York Life Building, notable for its bright gilded roof.
Hearst Tower, a personal favourite with its dramatic triangular construction.
