London presents its annual summer late night opening in Design Museum
The Design Museum’s annual summer late will be hosted by curating agency Double Decker. Featuring a series of talks, music performances and workshops, this year’s theme will celebrate ONE-OFF design. ONE-OFF provides a unique opportunity to explore the museum, with live demonstrations of the latest technological processes including 3D printing and Laser Cutting, a chance to re-create iconic pieces from the Design Museum Collection, talks exploring the designs of the future and guests creating their own works of art.
Get involved in ONE OFF Analogue with East London collective People of Print and create your own one-off tote bag. Using iconic images from the Design Museum Collection, screen-print your favourite design onto a tote bag in a choice of different neon colours.

The museum collaborates, for the first time, with Design Museum Holon as the inner walls of the museum turn into a digital canvas, covered in images of eccentric and unexpected one-off Israeli design prototypes. Sound and visual duo, Sculpture, takeover the museum’s 1.5 Gallery with a special performance combining digital and analogue projections utilizing the movement of music turntables, accompanied with a lively soundtrack.
Join a host of vibrant design talent in The Future is Here Factory: LIVE! With demonstrations, audience participation and question and answer sessions about the exciting possibilities of 3D printing, Laser Cutting and CNC Cutting.

The Design Museum café will be transformed into an interactive area where you can reinterpret iconic designs through collage and drawings. Lead by a member of the Design Museum team, create and reinvent iconic pieces from the museum’s collection and post your artwork on the museum’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Illustrator Patrick Schmidt will also be on hand leading a live customization session on furniture up-cycling in the Doodle Lab. The trend of hacking and customising pieces of furniture will be explored through a host of illustrators customising furniture pieces to create one-off designs. And in the museum’s collection display, designer Sylvia Weidenbach, fashion textile designer Ejing Zhang and sculptor John Rainey will discuss the future of design through presentations, an informal exhibition display of their work and an open-table discussion where visitors can discuss subjects such as 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
