A box containing hand-made golden Champagne and popping candy macarons are given at the end of the meal for each guest to take home as a gift. At Hakkasan Shanghai, the group’s first restaurant in China which launched in March 2014, is offering its own twist on a Golden Week set menu for the holidays, tailored to local tastes. Priced at RMB 888 the menu also includes such starts with Peking duck with caviar and a Dim sum platter, but Hakkasan Shanghai Chef Alvin Chan has also added dishes including Stewed sea cucumber in abalone gravy with garden green, Stir-fry black pepper Angus striploin, Jasmine tea smoked chicken and Crispy prawn with dried chilli and cashew nuts to the menu. In the US, Hakkasan restaurants including Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, New York and San Francisco will also be celebrating Golden Week with exclusive menus, each varying and offer a slightly different twist tailored to each location. To ensure the experience in the restaurants is enjoyable and efficient, Hakkasan has Mandarin-speaking staff on-site and in reservations, and accepts China Union Pay, the Chinese credit card of choice.
