Piaget’s global ambassador Gong Li, the renowned actress and star of the upcoming film “Coming Home,” dazzled in Piaget jewels on and off the red carpet at the 67th Cannes International Film Festival. She made a dramatic entrance in a long black gown, perfectly accented with Piaget Rose Passion diamond and emerald earrings, a diamond cuff and cocktail ring. Her beauty and exceptional glamour, along with the mastery of her filmmaking craft, illustrate Gong Li’s commitment to “always do better than necessary,” a belief shared with the Piaget brand. Also gracing the red carpet in Cannes were fellow actresses, Nicole Kidman, Jane Fonda, Audrey Tatou, Zoe Saldana and Blake Lively, who helped turn the French coastal town into a star-studded destination, attracting the world’s attention once again. One of the most famous actresses to grace the red carpet, GONG Li appeared in a black gown, beautifully complementing her pieces from the Piaget Rose and Rose Passion collections. Diamond roses, set off by stunning emeralds, bloomed like living flowers on the actress, and placed her in the spotlight. Since 1988, Gong Li has frequented the Film Festival, starring in classic films such as “Red Sorghum,” “Ju Dou”, “Farewell My Concubine,” “To Live” and “Temptress Moon,” and became a member of the jury at the 50th Film Festival. She has also been a presenter on several occasions, including at the most recent 65th Film Festival, where she presented Mads Mikkelsen with the award for Best Actor. This year, Gong Li returns to Cannes with her new movie “Coming Home,” adding yet another chapter to her history with the Festival. “Coming Home,” which stars Gong Li and Chen Daoming, is the only Chinese film to screen at the Festival this year. A highly acclaimed film both at home and abroad, “Coming Home” is an adaptation of Yan Geling’s novel, The Criminal Lu Yanshi. The film narrates a love story between Lu Yanshi and Feng Wanyu, set during one of China’s most tumultuous eras. Feng, played by Ms. Gong, is a strong-minded woman who experiences political turmoil and suffers memory loss but remains true to her heart. Gong Li stated that Feng Wanyu was an extremely challenging role to play, but the actress’ love for the character and the film represents her persistent and daring attitude towards the art of cinema - a view that aligns perfectly with Piaget’s own philosophy. Piaget is a proud supporter of the cinematic arts and sponsors leading events around the world, including the Film Independent Spirit Awards, the Hong Kong Film Awards and the Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards. With its dedication to exceptional filmmaking, Piaget continues to champion creativity and craft. by #Piaget | |
