Fashion rebels collide with Belgium’s new wave in Dazed’s spring/summer issue fronted by fashion's enduring outsiders including model, actress and singer Jamie Bochert and Italy's greatest export Mariacarla Boscono, shot by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Katy England and Panos Yiapanis. Vanderperre also shoots an unprecedented 50-page fashion portfolio that celebrates Belgium’s underground creatives who are setting the cultural agenda. The issue also comes with two limited edition covers featuring Oscar-nominated actress Veerle Baetens and Hollywood’s favourite Antwerp newcomer, Matthias Schoenaerts, both shot by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Robbie Spencer. In features, the iconoclastic Walter van Beirendonck is reunited with his former intern Craig Green – now London’s most radical menswear designer. Fashion’s dark overlord Rick Owens introduces Team Vicious, the rhythmic step crew who shocked Paris with their stomping in his SS14 runway show. In an AW14 Menswear preview, Raf Simons shares his one-off collaboration with artist Sterling Ruby, plus his seven-part outsider manifesto. Elsewhere, R&B’s next great hope Tinashe tells us why it’s DIY or die; Future talks of his ATL come-up and love for Margiela; pencil-stached indie singer Sean Nicholas Savage invites us into his dream world; we meet the kids of Larry Clark’s new film The Smell of Us for a wild afternoon in Paris; Bjarne Melgaard curates an exclusive 16-page art project; inside the X-rated cages, terrariums and aquariums of art rebel Tetsumi Kudo; and an afternoon of pranks with Canadian goof and jizz-jazz pioneer Mac DeMarco. by #Dazed & Confused Magazine | |
