Art Dubai officially opens today at 4pm by invitation only. We look forward to welcoming you to discover the work of more than 500 artists, from an extraordinarily diverse roster of galleries exhibiting in halls dedicated to contemporary and modern art. In addition to exploring the work shown in the gallery halls, visitors can engage with Art Dubai’s extensive not-for-profit programming with tours of Art Dubai Projects (5pm-5.30pm) and The Abraaj Group Art Prize (6pm-6.30pm); the critically-acclaimed, five-day conference Global Art Forum (running today 3pm-7.30pm); a live radio station; film and video screenings; Discovery tours and workshops as part of The Sheikha Manal Little Artists Program for children and teenagers (4pm-6pm); plus an engaging programme of curator-led tours, book launches, talks and collateral events.

GLOBAL ART FORUM Following its success in Kuwait earlier this week, the Global Art Forum, titled 'Download Update?' will be opening today in Dubai, taking on the theme of technologies and their impact on the world of art and culture. Today we welcome directors; Shumon Basar, Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi and Turi Munthe aswell as speakers Gala Berger, Kate Fowle, Gabriel Pérez-Barriero, Jack Persekian, Troy Conrad Therrien, Christopher Bevans, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Lara Khaldi, James Bridle, Omar Kholeif, Dr. Saoud Al Mulla and Hessa Al Ossaily. The 2015 Global Art Forum is presented by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and supported by Dubai Design District (d3). | |
