Timid Boy is French electronic producer &
Dj Damien Almira aka Timid Boy first rose to prominence in 2003, with his Dj
residency at the famous Rex Club in Paris for the Ellen Allien’s BPitch Control
parties. His passionate and zestful interpretation of the deep, hypnotic house
& techno sound seduced Resident Advisor which put one of his podcasts as
the "Mix Of The Day” on its website home page. Damien was also a very well known French music
journalist, specialized in electronic music, working for the prestigious
musical French publications Rock & Folk, Technikart or Trax. This enabled
him a deeper understanding and appreciation of electronic music and its rich
heritage, which illuminate his productions. He also runs Time Has Changed. The label has
fast become one of the hottest French house labels with key releases and
remixes from Oxia, Kiki, Alexkid, Jef K, Carlo Lio, Glimpse, Marco Resmann,
Mihai Popoviciu, Alex Celler, Marcman… Timid Boy has releases on famous labels such
as Tuning Spork, Barraca, Upon You, Form, Bitten, Dame Music… He gets great
supports and charts from Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Marco Carola, Seth Troxler, Steve
Lawler, Sasha, Reboot … His tracks and remixes often reach the Beatport charts,
like "Chicago Story” (top 10 tech house) or his remix for Zoë Xenia (top 10
deep house). The quality of these works made the French
techno heroe Agoria say: "Timid Boy shows us that he's a great producer, and
he's an artist to follow." « Baisers Volés » On his new EP, "Baiser Volés", Timid Boy
reveals his memories of a naïve house from the 90s, melodic, frivolous. Then he
goes into a more techno land with "Osiris", a soft and dreamy techno
lullaby. His friend Barem (from Richie Hawtin's label Minus) concocts a strong
remix, a pure house anthem. This EP comes released with the first Timid Boy’s music video "Baisers Volés": a ride inside a fairy and funny Paris, a strange dream with a wink at François Truffaut (author of the classic ‘nouvelle vague’ movie "Baisers Volés", 1968), where intrigued tourists, amused Parisian girls, and a tribute to the famous photography Baiser de l’hôtel de Ville by Robert Doisneau come together.
