Today Luna Rossa Challenge 2013 raced for the first time and alone in
her second scheduled race of the Louis Vuitton Cup Round Robin. Artemis
Racing is not yet ready to face its opponents on the race course. At 12.15 Luna Rossa Challenge 2013 got off the start of her very first race in the 34th
America’s Cup and completed the five laps Race Course. Luna Rossa
Challenge completed the 12.07-nautical-mile course in 28 minutes, 58
seconds, maintaining an average speed of 24 knots and reaching a top
speed of 34,2 knots. Luna Rossa Challenge foiled consistently around the course, showing confidence in manoeuvring and boat handling. Today’s crew for Luna Rossa Challenge 2013 was: Max Sirena (skipper
and pitman), Francesco Bruni (tactician), David Carr (pitman/grinder),
Pierluigi de Felice (trimmer), Simone de Mari (primary grinder), Cris
Draper (helmsman), Xabi Fernandez (wing trimmer), Nick Hutton (bowman),
Lele Marino (wing grinder), Marco Montis (freestyler), Giles Scott
(hydraulic grinder).
