 The Miss Dior exhibition presented last year at the Grand Palais, in Paris, will be presented at the Shanghai Sculpture Space, from 20 June to 20 July.Curated by Hervé Mikaeloff, the exhibition presents works by 16 female artists of different nationalities (the American Polly Apfelbaum, French Carole Benzaken, Korean Lee Bul, Brazilian Maria Nepomuceno, Iranian Shirin Neshat and the Japanese Tomoko Shioyasu, among others), invited to create pieces inspired by the Miss Dior universe. Joana Vasconcelos responded to Dior’s challenge by creating one of her most surprising pieces. J’Adore Miss Dior presents itself as an enormous golden bow, filled and trespassed by thousands of illuminated flasks of the famous J’Adore perfume, as a tribute to Miss Dior, the brand’s first fragrance. Each work stars alongside a Dior icon, and the famous dress Concerto (1957), with its bust reminiscent of a sumptuous red bow, will be showcased near J’Adore Miss Dior.
