Brian Davidson, British Consul-General in Shanghai and Alex Hua Tian, Olympic Equestrian Rider and Goodwill Ambassador for VisitBritain have officially opened ‘London Luxury. By Appointment’  at The Langham Xintiandi,  where a cocktail reception officially marked the beginning of a unique, six-day showcase of the finest in British craftsmanship and bespoke luxury.

London Luxury. By Appointment  is a joint initiative between the ‘London Luxury Quarter’, British Airways and VisitBritain, giving invited guests the opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with artists, craftsmen, chefs and personal style and shopping consultants from some of Britain’s most iconic brands, including watchmakers, world-famous London stores and fashion houses, perfumers, bespoke tailors and shoemakers, restaurants and hotels.

Following three days in Shanghai from September 17 to 19,London Luxury. By Appointmentwill move to the brand new The St. Regis Chengdu offering visitors an unprecedented opportunity to interact with these luxury brands in China, some for the very first time.

By Appointment really embraces what is truly unique about luxury British retail, hospitality and lifestyle brands, and gives Shanghai and Chengdu a flavour of the creativity to expect on a trip to UK.”

The six-day showcase includes day-time workshops and one-on-one appointments with brands and partners for individuals, luxury travel buyers, member’s clubs and the media, with cocktail receptions each evening.  Guests have the opportunity to witness why London and Britain is at the forefront of global fashion and lifestyle trends by interacting with unique and quintessentially British brands from the ‘London Luxury Quarter’ that embraces Mayfair, Piccadilly and St. James. The brands attending include, Fortnum & Mason, Browns Fashion, Gieves & Hawkes, Floris London, Selfridges, John Lobb, Bremont Watches, Jaguar, The Langham London and Hakkasan.

This galaxy of luxury UK brands are being brought to Shanghai and Chengdu by British Airways. In the two highly anticipated events, British Airways ambassadors are showcasing the best of British service that customers would experience in its flights.

The ‘London Luxury Quarter’ which embraces over a thousand prestigious shops, auction houses,  galleries, restaurants and numerous iconic London hotels, is one of the world’s leading luxury lifestyle destinations and a magnet for wealthy Chinese visitors to London.
