Currently he is the G M for Aston Martin South Africa and strategically takes care of the management, marketing, sales & logistics requirements for this prestigious brand.

His journey in the motor industry started in 1998 when Rens took an opportunity to join the team of Pearl Automotive South Africa to re-launch the MG and Rover brands nationally. Within the group Rens was involved in the launching of further vehicle brands, including Lotus, Proton and Bentley Motors.

The development program included courses that covered finance, technical, logistics, management and marketing. Returning to S.A. in 2004 Rens was employed as Brand Manager for Bentley Motors in S.A. by the Pearl Automotive Group. He became a core part of a small specialist team that successfully launched the first new car from Bentley Motors in 60 Years, the Continental GT. In 2009 he was appointed as General Manager for Bentley Motors in South Africa, Rens continued to work with Bentley until November 2012 after which he joined another famous British sports car brand, Aston Martin.
